I graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City in 2018 with a Master's degree in Social Work. I worked at The Family Conservancy serving the greater Kansas City's community mental health from 2019 until 2022 where I earned my clinical license. My target population was ages 6-60 and the focus of treatment ranged from depression, anxiety, PTSD.
As a Clinical Social Worker, I consider what my client and their environment can bring to their process of healing. I believe that I am an active participant, encouraging the process of change alongside my client. My Mission is to offer support and strategies so that my clients can decide for themselves what is appropriate for them. I strive to help my clients gain perspective and a deeper understanding of their lives so they are empowered to make meaningful breakthroughs for themselves.
In addition to providing individual therapy to treat trauma, anxiety, and depression, I enjoy working with couples helping them to relate better with one another or to cope with family issues in healthier ways.
A majority of the time, my clients need to learn positive coping skills, discover supports or determine goals. Others need help getting unstuck from the lingering effects of past trauma or more complex problems that interfere with relationships, work and overall life satisfaction.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to treat trauma, PTSD, anxiety depressive and grief and loss.
I am trained in Imago Relationship Therapy for couples and families,
I am trained in Conscious Discipline (CD) which is an evidence-based trauma-informed approach that teaches social and emotional learning to children led by adults.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Depression and Couples.
I am trained in SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment) (SBIRT) is an evidence-based approach to identifying patients who use alcohol and other drugs at risky levels.
I strive to create a warm and welcoming place where you can feel safe, cared for, and valued. My therapy style is informal, in that I am not tied to any one treatment approach in a scripted manner for all individuals. Instead, I utilize a variety of techniques that is adapted to the unique needs of each individual client. Collaboratively, my clients and I establish a focused goal to help us gauge the progress being made in therapy. I am committed to being mindful of your time and resources to be as effective as possible.
